I help organisations maximise income and reduce costs through effective management of legal and regulatory risks and in particular financial crime. I combine my knowledge of serious and organised crime, my understanding of how organisations operate and my experience of creating legal frameworks and policies, to proactively work with businesses to understand the threats, manage risks and also identify business opportunities.

I also lead internal audit work to provide assurance around legal and regulatory compliance and organisational culture, successfully using data analytics to inform business decisions, identify fraud and suspicious transactions.

Experienced across: private, public and not-for-profit sectors, including multinational FTSE 100 companies; a number of regulated environments including: SRA, FCA, Charities, Gambling and Gaming, Energy (OFGEM); and different geographies incl. EMEA & North America.

An accredited counter fraud specialist with over 20 years’ experience across all areas of economic crime: fraud, bribery and corruption (ABC), anti money laundering (AML) and terrorist financing (CTF), as well as Know Your Customer (KYC), Source of Wealth (SOW), Source of Funds (SOF), due diligence, modern slavery, data privacy and asset tracing.

I have established and run highly effective investigations teams focused on major fraud, money laundering and asset tracing investigations. I have worked as a civilian investigator alongside investigators from agencies that now form the National Crime Agency, HMRC, and SFO as well as local and national police units.

I have acted as a policy advisor to central and local government including the development of Recovery of Defence Costs Orders from suspected terrorists and major drugs smuggling and people trafficking cases. I translate complex regulations in to workable procedures and controls, clear digestible guidance and training materials. Experience includes POCA, UKBA, FCPA, MLR, MSA, UKFA, DPA2018, GDPR.
